Fiber Optic Proximity Sensor
A proximity sensor using
optical fiber that detects the position of an object without contact.
Photoelectric sensors are
also called fiber optic photoelectric switches. The main body consisting of a
light source, a light detector, and an amplifier is separated from the light
emitter by an optical fiber. It can be used in harsh environments where optical
components such as lenses are contaminated, and can also be used in narrow
spaces. A combination of a tiny magnet and a fiber optic magnetic sensor can
form a proximity sensor that detects position.
