Differential photoelectric sensor

Differential photoelectric sensor

A sensor that uses two or more photodetectors and uses the difference in light input response as the output signal.

It can be used to detect the displacement of the beam point. When the beam hits the junction of the two detectors, since the displacement output changes in opposite phases, taking their difference can obtain a signal inversely proportional to the displacement.
